Jaisalmer – The Golden City of Rajasthan
Located in the heart of the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is a mesmerizing blend of golden sand, grand forts, intricate havelis, and timeless culture. Fondly known as the "Golden City," Jaisalmer gets its name from the golden-hued sandstone that glows under the setting sun, giving its architecture a magical, honey-like brilliance.
Once a flourishing trade center along the camel caravan routes between India and Central Asia, Jaisalmer’s fortunes declined with the rise of sea trade. However, it remains a jewel of Rajasthan’s heritage — enchanting every traveler who ventures into its desert charm.
